Breeta Toma (Hope) is a second generation artist, whose play of color and texture was inspired almost from the time she was a little girl sitting beside her father and his oil easel.Her work contains elements of oil painting, but has an intangible quality of light. Breeta is not only drawn to painting, but to all forms of jewelry. This is what led her to her craft and ultimately to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) for a for a degree in jewelry manufacturing arts. She has also worked as a traditional jeweler, Breeta has found all forms of jewelry to be a satisfying expression of art. Her work provides an array of materials that range from Dichroic glass, enamel, silver, pearls, semiprecious stones, and vintage beads. It is the breadth of this experience and materials fused as one to make a small wearable piece of art.
