In this workshop we will explore the properties of watercolor as we play with color and pattern. Your finished work will be a bitty (3"x3") journal for continued use. Printable template included.
We cover color mixing from primaries and some simple drawing techniques as well as drawing "hacks" to paint these sweet succulents. You can make them "mini" or full sized. Drawing sample file included.
Layering is the focus of this workshop. We start two spreads differently using a variety of techniques differently each time and adjusting the order of operation we end up with two distinctly different looks.
Learn several techniques to fill your pages with layers, colors, texture, words, imagery, etc. We finish with a reductive painting process and a mini lesson in adding hand lettering to your finished work.
Add layers of acrylic paint and marks to a prepared canvas pouch. This is a lesson in mark making that can be done on any surface. We will finish the session with image transfer.
Ever feel like you just want to understand color a bit better? This workhsop takes the mystery out of color mixing and gives you a hands on lesson using red, yellow, blue, white and black for mixing.
Learn how to "draw your letters" as you take your own writing (no matter how you feel about it) and turn your letters into art. You will be able to design for cards or art journal pages by the end of this session.
Make a personal mark on your artwork. You will learn how to cut and form your own unique mark making tools from simple and easy to find materials. Minimal specialized tools are needed for maximum impact.
In this workshop you re-purpose/upcycle an old book into a new journal. You may select a variety of papers or stick with just one type (such as watercolor) to create your own journal perfectly suited to you.
