Willabella the Flower Girl with Danielle Donaldson

Danielle will lead you through her process in creating these charming watercolor girls.

Before I list what supplies you need to bring I will mention that we have an on-site art supply store stocked with all the supplies on her list.  If you would like to take advantage of our "empty handed" advantage and simply show up for class and have everything provided for you.

Please bring the following:

A set of watercolors - I suggest Daniel Smith, Sennelier, or Winsor Newton. Artist grade paints make learning so much easier! I use Daniel Smith exclusively.  If you are buying new tubes of paint for the class, please be sure you put a dollop of each on yoru palette a couple of days in advance to let them dry out.

A pad of watercolor paper - I suggest 140# cold press paper in 8x10 or 9x12 size.  Cut up a couple of sheets before hand to practice different techniques

Several Watercolor-only brushes - I suggest Winsor Newton Cotman brushes for beginner and intermediate levels.  You'll need at least a 1/4 inch angle and several rounds.  #2, 4, 6 8 round brushes are a good place to start!  In addition, you'll need a big round everyday brush to apply the India ink.

Pen and Pencil - Don't forget a mechanical pencil with a .3mm lead.  you can purchase them at A Work of Heart!  My favorite is Pilot Dr. Grip.  To apply white flowers to the background you will need a Uni-Posca fine tip 1m white ink pen (not extra fine-line!)

Other stuff - I suggest a medium to large sized mason jar for water.  It allows you to see how dirty your water is and because it is larger, you won't have to change water during the class.  Also you'll need an apron because India ink is MESSY!

Danielle will provide - I will provide salt to create special effects in your washes, paper towels and India Ink along with a handout with my class example for you to take notes during class, then take home just in case you don't finish.

I'll also bring original art, books, stamps, and stencils.  Cash is best but I can take credit via pay pal too!  Stamps and stencil sets will be sold in full sets and are on sale!  Limited to stock on hand.

If you are interested in pre-ordering the Tumble Blossom stamps I use in class please make a note of it in registration and Andrea will send you further pre-ordering information.
