Mighty Minis with Rae Missigman
Working small is a safe size for many artist. There is so little space to fill that the fear of facing the blank slate isn't as common. Small amounts of color and tiny marks are often all it takes to create a full and busy background. Composition is simpler to achieve, and the creative process is quicker, maing it the perfect size art for becoming more familiarwith your style.
In this workshop Rae will guide you as you learn to embrace the joys of working small.
Your kit will include:
(4) 3x3 surfaces
Stash of papers (a variety of pre-painted and printed)
Piece of muslin fabric
Student will bring:
a small selection of acrylic paints
assortment of paint pens/markers
OR opt for the empty handed advantage for $10 cash in class.
Studio will provide:
ball point pens
assortment of paint brushes
Rae Missigman, mixed media artist, author and instructor is known for her vivid colors, intricate layering and signature repetitive art marks.
As an artist, Rae believes that creativity can be accomplished in bite sized pieces during even the busiest days. She focuses on embedding her distinctive mark on each piece leaving no doubt of it’s creator.
As an instructor, Rae strongly encourages all artists to trust themselves to fearlessly do what they love. She champions a bold voice, continuing education and finding inspiration in the everyday.
As a woman, Rae lives in central FL within a large family of creatives. She now shares her love of all things handmade with a new generation of young makers.
