Rae Missigman, mixed media artist, author and instructor is known for her vivid colors, intricate layering and signature repetitive art marks. As an artist, Rae believes that creativity can be accomplished in bite sized pieces during even the busiest days. She focuses on embedding her distinctive mark on each piece leaving no doubt of it’s creator. As an instructor, Rae strongly encourages all artists to trust themselves to fearlessly do what they love. She champions a bold voice, continuing education and finding inspiration in the everyday. As a woman, Rae lives in central FL within a large family of creatives. She now shares her love of all things handmade with a new generation of young makers.
As a lifetime hobby gardener, Margot Robison had always dreamed about owning a neighborhood flower shop but real life took her in the direction of "stay at home mom" and volunteer extraordinaire. Four years ago a friend encouraged Margot to try a landscape project using all succulents, plants that she was previously unfamiliar with. Margot quickly became enamored with the many succulent forms, shapes, and colors. With kids off to college, Margot took the plunge to create a home-based business Saratoga Succulents. Here she offers small landscape projects, at-home and business workshops, and custom orders. While not exactly the business she had dreamed of, her work still satisfies her desire for working with living plants and creating beauty to enjoy. In fall she enjoys creating succulent trimmed pumpkins and is excited to share these small gardens with members of the AWOH community.
Dr. Minette Riordan is a modern day Renaissance woman: transformational artist, writer, award-winning entrepreneur and advocate for creativity as essential to the well-being of all people and our planet. She holds a doctorate from Stanford University as well as multiple coaching certifications including her most recent certification as a Creative Depth Coach.
Life took her by surprise in 2017 when people started asking her to buy her paintings. “I’m not an artist,” she said. This was a turning point in her life and her career. Since then she has been selling art and teaching others to courageously own their artistry and build their creative business through her coaching, online programs and live events.
Minette always believed in unicorns and magic. When she was young, she could often be found riding around the neighborhood on her big black horse, pigtails flying, in search of adventure or lying in the grass gazing at clouds.
Minette has always loved the story of The Ugly Duckling, probably why she was so addicted to American Idol.
