Acrylic Abstract Paintings

You are registring for a livestream class on the Zoom platform.

Create a series of 4 (5x7, 6x8, 7x9 or  8x10) canvas panels using a limited color palette. We will focus on mixing colors and mark making for impactful bitty paintings that pack a punch. You will be guided step by step but each painting will come out as unique as you are!  These make great gifts and a wonderful surface for a quote or words of inspiration.  Alternatively you may work in an art journal for this class.

You will be able to take the skills you acquire painting small and translate them to large work.

The supplies I will be using are listed below.  Please reach out if you need supplies mailed to you or arrange for curbside pickup or local delivery.  We can provide you with whatever you need for this class.

• Canvas Panels
• Gesso
• Scribing tool (bamboo skewer, toothpick, whatever you have to scratch into the wet paint)
• Texture stamping tools (check your recycling for packaging with texture, corrugated cardboard, bubble wrap etc..)
• 3 colors of acrylic paint + heavy body titanium white
• Paint brush (1/2 inch flat, #6 round, 3/4 oval wash...these are a few examples but use what you have)
• brayer
• Watersoluable black pencil (stabilo marks all is what I use)
• Heat tool or dryer for speeding up the drying process (hair dryer works)
• Water for rinsing brushes
• Paper towel
• Palette for paint (paper plate works)
