Art Journaling Workshop Evening Session

My personal philosophy in art journaling is that it is a perfect process for using what you have.  I consider the following a general guideline of what is useful to follow along with techniques I teach.  Please feel free to substitute or simply ask in class what can be used instead if you are missing anything on this list.  Kit's will be available for purchase and can be customized.

Suggested Supply List: 

  • Art journal or a piece of watercolor paper (90-140lb)
  • Gesso
  • a few acrylic paints (craft paint is fine!)
  • matte medium
  • Various stencils & stamps ( I can show you how to make these with junkmail, recycling and a pair of scissors!)
  • old book pages (phone book works great)
  • paint brushes in various sizes
  • paper towel & water container (with water for rinsing brush)
  • Old hotel key card or starbucks card
  • Oil pastel and/or Posca Paint marker
  • Black and/or white pens
  • Drying tools (hair dryer works fine)
  • paper plate or palette

Bonus supplies if you have them

  • Acrylic ink
  • Watersoluable crayon/pencils
  • Washi Tape, patterned tissue or
  • Bamboo skewer or other scribing/scratching tools
  • water spray bottle
  • Alphabet stamps & permanent ink like stazon

Art (Visual) Journaling is a relaxing form of creative expression. Bring a journal  and learn several techniques to fill your pages with layers, colors, texture, words, imagery, etc. Any level of experience is welcome. We will focus on the areas of art journaling you are most interested in.
